When others think about a print shop, most will think that all they do is just print random jobs
and fill printers with paper when they run out. While that is mostly true, not many will see what I see
when I go to work each day.
To me, those random jobs are important tools I get to work on each day to help support our
community. If you think about it, if a teacher needs to have lesson packets printed, it is crucial to get
that material to them so that they can utilize that training tool to teach our youth. If a staff member
needs meeting material, it too is also important to get that to them quickly so they can have something tangible to use to supplement their message. Other times, flyers, brochures, or even test scores are needed for the parents so they can stay engaged in their child’s academic life.
Without these physical items available, everything would only be by word of mouth. It’s not a
bad thing, but as we continue on with our own busy lives, do we really remember everything everyone
has told you? This is why I feel print media has a solid place in our lives. It serves as not only as a
reminder, but as tools to train, tools to support, and tools to show success. It enhances our day to day
lives without us realizing it.
So, each morning as I get up and sip on my coffee, do I dread going to work? Oh no, I sit back
and think about what might I get to work on today and how it could help someone’s day go by smoothly.
To know that what I do makes an impact it’s much too rewarding than to stay at home.
