teNyenhuis career in education began 23 years ago as a social science teacher. She taught middle and high school for Salinas Union High School District, Fresno, and Clovis Unified School Districts.
La carrera de teNyenhuis en la educación comenzó hace 23 años como profesora de ciencias sociales. Fue profesora de secundaria y preparatoria en los distritos escolares de Salinas Union High School, Fresno y Clovis Unified.
After teaching for 14 years, she transitioned to administration in Clovis Unified, where she served as assistant principal of Mickey Cox Elementary School, learning director, and deputy principal at Buchanan High School, and this past year as coordinator for Expanded Learning.

teNyenhuis grew up in Fresno and attended Fresno City College and California State University, Fresno (Fresno State), where she received her undergraduate degree in history and her Single-Subject Teaching Credential in Social Science.

After teaching for over a decade, she returned to Fresno State, earning her master’s in Educational Leadership and Administrative credentials in 2015.

Her educational philosophy is rooted in the belief that all students deserve our best every day and that we must focus on developing strategies and protocols to increase academic achievement and social-emotional development.

teNyenhuis is passionate about helping students achieve their potential and was first drawn to Madera Unified after reading the Student Champion document.

During her free time, she enjoys reading, traveling, and spending time with her husband, Matt, and three children, Ella, Andrew, and Olivia.
