Jatzelle Salazar-Lopez, an impact player
OUR FALL SPORTS are underway and there are a few who are excelling at their craft. Madera South girls 4-year varsity starting water polo player Jatzelle Salazar-Lopez is one of them!
Jatzelle has played water polo for six years. She started on one of our first middle school teams. Her older sister played her senior year and told Jatzelle she would probably like it. She gave it a try and has fallen in love with it.
Jatzelle hasn’t decided where she will attend college, but has quite a few offers that will allow her to continue playing water polo. She will pursue her degree in criminology, while playing the sport she loves.
Her coach Miranda Perez, who has coached her for the last five years, says she is a coach’s dream as a player, teammate, and leader, both inside and outside of the pool. Outside she is sweet and caring, but in the pool it is a different story. The college she will ultimately sign with will be adding on a powerful impact player.
