MADERA ADULT SCHOOL (MAS) continues to be one of the shining stars in the North Valley! For the second year in a row, Madera Adult School has led the 14 adult schools in the State Center Adult Education Consortium (SCAEC) with students with the highest learning gains and in several other areas. Student Learning Gains are used to measure if students are learning or not. Last year, MAS students led the SCAEC Adult Schools in Learning Gains and in four other measurable areas. MAS students, teachers, support staff, and administration are to be commended for their continued success!
Need a Job or a Career Change? Our Career Technical Education Program can help you quickly earn the certification for many vocational programs. Did you know that there is a great demand for Security Guards and Certified Nurses Assistants? The demand in Madera County is so great that there are more jobs than qualified applicants.
Our Certified Nurses Assistants and Security Guard Officers programs have an applications process. Call or visit our office for registration information and program start dates. There is a charge for these programs, but to qualified candidates, these fees can be covered by Workforce, a co-habitant partner.
The Microsoft Office Specialist Program offers workforce recognized certification in five areas: Word, Excel, Access, Powerpoint, and Outlook. Students can become certified in one or all five areas. There is a charge for this program, but to qualified candidates, these fees can be covered by Workforce, a co-habitant partner.
Madera Adult School is located in the Market Place Shopping Center (next to Walmart) at 2037 West Cleveland Avenue. It serves adult students wanting to earn their high school diploma, High School Equivalency Certificate, learn English, freshen up on their Basic Education Skills, or become an Emergency Technician (EMT), Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA), Microsoft Office Specialist Certification, Guard Officer Certification Card, and how to use a computer. There is no charge for educational classes such as the high school diploma, high school equivalency certificate, English as a Second Language (ESL), Citizenship and adult basic education.
