WORLD STRIDES NATIONAL YOUTH CHOIR
Carnegie Hall, New York City
April 18, 2020

The choirs of Madera South High School under the direction of Roger Harabedian, Director of Choirs & Vocal Music, Madera South High School, have been invited to sing at Carnegie Hall, New York City in April, 2020. This is a great honor for the central valley community and a “once in a lifetime” opportunity for the students. While the vocal music program reaches 70 students this year, only a few in the advanced choir will participate in this concert. The costs involved are significant (estimated at $3000.00 per student for 20 students, equaling a total of $60,000). These funds need to be raised privately. We are reaching out to you for help and support. Your donations will help cover the costs of travel, meals, special events and music associated with participation in the Carnegie Choir concert.

The Madera South High School Choir Music Program wants to partner with you!

The benefits of participation in music programs are far reaching and have life-long impact.
  • Music is a Science.
  • Music is Mathematical.
  • Music is a Foreign Language.
  • Music is Physical Education.
  • Music Develops Insight and Demands Research.
  • Music is Art!

The music/choir programs, like many others in the public school system, face tight budget constraints that don’t allow for extra opportunities like this Carnegie one. It takes support from major fundraising sponsorships and donations from the community in order for students to participate. Your donations will help cover the costs of travel, meals, special events and music associated with participation in the Carnegie Choir concert.

Madera South High School Choir’s Awards and Recognitions:
  • Receives Unanimous Superior Awards and high scores at numerous choral festivals.
  • 2014 – Performed at the Madera Fair with rock group Foreigner
  • 2008 – Silver Award, Heritage Festival in NYC. The only Madera choir ever to have performed there.
  • 2005 – Selected for Disneyland’s Candlelight Procession and Ceremony. Technically considered Disney Cast members. The only Madera student group ever employed by Disney.

Please consider becoming a sponsor for this very special program. Your donation can have life changing impact on the students and their future. Your investment will provide benefits to these students for years to come. MSHS is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.  All contributions will be used to support the Carnegie Concert trip. Tax ID# 35-2247260
