very year it is an honor to see some of our student athletes reach their dreams of being able to compete at the collegiate level. They will all compete at different levels and locations but the one thing they all have in common is they will continue to follow the dream of participating in athletics.

It is more evident this year than in years past. During the last two covid years, most athletes couldn’t participate in sports. Many of our student athletes didn’t have a place to continue to train and play and moved on to other interests. The students in this article go the extra mile to follow their passion. They found a place to practice, lift and train to stay sharp in their craft and it is paying off by being able to participate after high school. This year we even have one young man who has been invited to play professionally in Spain!

All of these student athletes represent everything we want high school education based athletics to be. They are multisport, involved in clubs and many different activities. Some have been the first in school history to achieve their accomplishments and all will go down as giving their all to their schools. 

It is my pleasure to present the 2022 Madera Unified student athletes who will be continuing their athletic careers after graduation.
