Elementary schools will arrange for a summer school program, focused on enrichment including various curricula, such as language arts, readers theater, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics), coding, visual and performing arts, and physical education. The curricula will give students a hands-on approach to their learning through exciting and deeply engaging activities. Middle Schools will implement an enrichment program for incoming 7th grade students and a chance for incoming 8th grade students to earn grades, helping them to qualify for 8th grade promotion at the end of their second middle school year. High Schools have produced a comprehensive program for students, in which they will be able to earn the credits they need to complete their high school graduation requirements. High school students will be able to select from three sessions this summer school: a morning, afternoon, and an evening session. The high school evening sessions will be only available in an online format.
Las escuelas primarias organizarán un programa de escuela de verano enfocado en enriquecimiento incluyendo varios currículos, tales como artes del lenguaje, teatro de lectores, STEAM (Ciencias, Tecnología, Ingeniería, Artes, y Matemáticas), programación, artes visuales y escénicas, y educación física. Los currículos le darán a los estudiantes un acercamiento práctico a su aprendizaje a través de actividades emocionantes y profundamente atractivas. Las Escuelas Intermedias implementarán un programa de enriquecimiento para los estudiantes entrantes de 7mo grado y una oportunidad para los estudiantes entrantes de 8vo grado obtengan calificaciones, ayudándolos a calificar a la promoción a 8vo grado al final de su segundo año de escuela intermedia. Las Escuelas Secundarias han producido un programa integral para los estudiantes, en el que podrán obtener los créditos que necesitan para completar sus requisitos de graduación de la escuela secundaria. Los estudiantes de escuela secundaria podrán seleccionar entre tres sesiones en esta escuela de verano: una sesión por la mañana, una por la tarde, y una por la noche. Las sesiones de escuela secundaria de la noche solo estarán disponibles en formato en línea.
Please review the summer school schedule for more information on dates and times for each grade level. Summer schools will start either on June 15th or June 18th depending on the specific site’s implementation. The program will run through July 2nd. Please reach out to your child’s school site for more information, and to familiarize yourself with the registration details your child will need to follow to attend summer school and to reap the benefits from this great learning opportunity.

MADERA UNIFIED WILL provide a unique opportunity for all MUSD students, allowing all elementary schools, middle schools, and high schools, to deliver a summer school program in the Summer of 2021. Every school in the district is developing plans to offer opportunities for students to re-engage with their school in an in-person setting. Having students back on campus this Spring has been a critically positive development for our students and school staff. For summer school, we will continue to propose students with opportunities for enrichment, remediation, and quite frankly to re-familiarize themselves in a live, in-person school setting.
