AS SOME OF you are in the middle of planning for your college careers this can be an overwhelming time. Therefore, during these times it is important to do your research about the colleges and universities you are considering. It is important to know that every college and university provide different student programs specifically designed to help students in college. If you have not done so already, you should check in with your academic counselor at school to make sure you are on the right track. Your academic counselor is there to help and support you during this journey. Also, all students are encouraged to complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid, FAFSA. Filling out a FAFSA application gives students the opportunity to get FREE money for college in the form of grants, and it also provides colleges and universities the real-world information they need to grant loans. Make sure to also research and apply for scholarships. Important note, scholarship applications are free, so you should take advantage of them. It is important to know that you should never have to pay money out of your pocket for a scholarship. It is always best to check in with your academic counselor and verify the validity of any scholarship offer.
