Chrisann Dominguez is the Library Media Technician at Thomas Jefferson Middle School in Madera California. She single-handedly runs the school library with composure and unsurpassed professionalism. She is admired by the entire staff and students at Thomas Jefferson. She was deservedly nominated for the California State Library Association’s award because she has impressed people with her quiet intelligence, professionalism, and calm manner. Chrisann has been an employee of Madera Unified School District for 20 years, and a library paraprofessional for the past 18 years. She’s worked in many of the district’s libraries, supporting Teacher Librarians, school staff and other paraprofessionals at the elementary, middle and high school levels. In 2011, she began to run the Thomas Jefferson Middle School Library completely on her own. She took on far more responsibility than her job description required, and continues to display exemplary professionalism with every student and teacher interaction. Always ready to help any school Library Media Technician, or Teacher Librarian, when circulation and attendance software guidance is needed, Chrisann is an immensely valuable resource within our district.
