arcel McAllister faced many challenges on his journey to becoming an entrepreneur. He had to rely on his desire for his dream to come true. In 2021, FURY Hot Chicken was launched. Now, McAllister considers himself a student of the brand, whose goal is to master all aspects of business.
Marcel McAllister se enfrentó a muchos obstaculos en su camino hasta convertirse en empresario. Tuvo que confiar en sus ganas de hacer realidad su sueño. En 2021 puso en plan FURY Hot Chicken. Ahora, McAllister se considera un estudiante de la marca, cuyo objetivo es dominar todos los aspectos del negocio.
What experiences play a role in your decision to become an entrepreneur and start a business ?
I think it was just a spiritual thing. I prayed to God to get me on the right path and help me figure out my life. I prayed for a purpose. Coming from where I come from, there are few that become somebody.

Creo que fue algo espiritual. Recé a Dios para que me llevara por el buen camino y me ayudara a resolver mi vida. Le pedí un propósito. Viniendo de donde vengo, son pocos los que llegan a ser alguien
I was attending Fresno City College. I took an African American studies class and the project was to create a boys and girls club that would impact my community and the youth. As I was creating the project it hit me, I really wanted to find a way to serve my community and those around me. That’s when I realized I wanted to be an entrepreneur. In 2016, I made the choice to drop out of college, figure it out, and now I’m here.
Iba al colegio Fresno City. Asistí a una clase de estudios afroamericanos y el proyecto consistía en crear un club de chicos y chicas que tuviera un impacto en mi comunidad y en la juventud. Mientras creaba el proyecto, me di cuenta de que realmente quería encontrar una forma de servir a mi comunidad y a los que me rodeaban. Fue entonces cuando me di cuenta de que quería ser empresario. En 2016, tomé la decisión de dejar los estudios, pensar en lo que queríahacer y ahora estoy aquí.
Where did the idea of FURY start?
The idea started from a friend mentioning a place called Howlin Rays. I did my own due diligence and started studying what Nashville Hot Chicken was. That’s when I saw the potential hot chicken had and really respected the craft.

La idea comenzó a partir de un amigo que mencionó un lugar llamado Howlin Rays. Hice mis propias averiguaciones y empecé a estudiar qué era el el pollo picante de Nashville. Fue entonces cuando vi el potencial que tenía el pollo picante y respeté realmente el oficio.
What challenges did you face and overcome during the process?
Some of the challenges I faced were being young and black. My background played an unexpected role. I didn’t look, act, or talk the part. People forecasted my failures.
¿Cuales obstáculos haz enfrentado y superado durante el proceso?
Algunos de los obstáculos a los que me enfrenté fueron ser joven y afroamericano. Mi origen desempeñó un papel inesperado. No tenía el aspecto, ni actuaba, ni hablaba como era debido. La gente pronosticaba mis fracasos.
What is next for FURY?
Greatness and giving back. The team and I are working diligently to execute big ideas and recreate boundaries. There will be a lot of new things coming in the year.

La grandeza y la retribución. El equipo y yo estamos trabajando con diligencia para ejecutar grandes ideas y recrear los límites. Este año habrá muchas novedades.
